Job Description

Our Client, a leading Industrial Distributor, and Europe’s largest supplier of industrial maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) products and services are looking to attract a Financial Controller for their Irish Operation.  Reporting directly to the General Manager with a dotted reporting line to the CFO for UK, Ireland and Iceland, the successful candidate will need to be dynamic and results-driven with both strategic and commercial strengths to lead the financial strategy and operations team in Ireland.

As a key member of the executive leadership team, the Financial Controller will drive strategic decision-making, ensure financial compliance, and play a pivotal role in supporting our business growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Financial Leadership
    Develop and execute the Company’s financial strategy in alignment with business objectives.
    Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and executive team based on financial
    analysis and projections.
    Evaluate and implement financial systems and tools to optimize efficiency.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis
    Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
    Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and recommend actionable insights.
    Lead the preparation of detailed financial models to support business initiatives.
  • Accounting and Compliance
    Ensure compliance with all regulatory and financial reporting requirements.
    Supervise the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements.
    Lead internal and external audits to maintain strong governance practices.
  • Treasury and Risk Management 
    Manage Company’s capital structure, cash flow, and working capital.
    Evaluate and mitigate financial risks to safeguard company assets.
    Develop policies and frameworks to optimize financial operations.
  • Team Leadership
    Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and
    accountability.
    Mentor and develop team members to achieve professional growth.
    Promote cross-functional collaboration to achieve organizational goals.

Key Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; CPA, ACA,
ACCA, or CFA qualification preferred.

Experience: At least 8-10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, including 3+
years in a senior management role.

Strong background in strategic planning, financial analysis, and operational management.

Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking skills.
Proven ability to manage complex financial operations and projects.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Proficient in financial systems, ERP platforms, and data analysis tools.
Results-oriented leader with a collaborative and proactive approach.
